Daily Maintenance Specification for FAKRA Automatic Production Line | Extend Service Life of Equipment

The FAKRA automatic production line is high-precision and modular equipment dedicated to automotive wiring harness manufacturing. It integrates multiple precision working stations including coaxial stripping, shield combing, servo crimping, CCD visual inspection and automatic assembly. Featuring tiny mechanical fitting clearances, superior inspection accuracy and responsive servo sensor components, this equipment imposes stricter requirements on production environment, daily cleaning, lubrication calibration and periodic overhaul compared with conventional wiring harness equipment.

Prolonged continuous operation will lead to issues such as accumulated copper scraps, dry guide rails, contaminated lenses and station position deviation. These defects will directly trigger batch malfunctions of FAKRA harnesses, including defective stripping, eccentric crimping, false inspection judgments and dimensional deviations. To sustain stable high-precision long-term operation, reduce failure rates and extend equipment service life, this document formulates standardized daily, weekly and monthly maintenance specifications for the FAKRA automatic production line, delivering standardized guidelines for equipment operation and maintenance within wiring harness manufacturers.

1. Daily Equipment Maintenance Specifications

Daily maintenance serves as the foundation to prevent accumulated faults on precision equipment, focusing primarily on cleaning, inspection and position resetting. Though straightforward to implement, it plays a vital role in improving operational stability.

Upon completion of daily production, full dedusting and cleaning shall be performed on all working stations of the complete machine. Special attention shall be paid to removing residual copper scraps, wire dust and plastic debris left on the coaxial stripping module, crimping stations, feeding tracks and assembly fixtures. Tiny metallic fragments are likely to scratch precision rotary cutting blades, abrade guide rail surfaces and block sensors, further resulting in inconsistent stripping, feeding jamming and false signal triggering.

For the CCD visual inspection system, wipe lenses and supplementary light sources gently with lint-free soft cloth to remove dust, fog and stains for clear imaging. Blurred images would otherwise cause missed detection and false detection regarding crimping appearance, coaxiality and assembly positions. Meanwhile, verify the functionality of emergency stop buttons, safety protective doors and induction safety devices, and ensure wires and terminal raw materials are neatly placed without extrusion or deformation.

Carry out no-load trial operation before daily startup. Confirm smooth coordinated movement of each station with no abnormal noise, jamming or sluggish movement. Mass production can only be initiated after verifying normal equipment parameters and zero alarm codes.

2. Weekly Maintenance Specifications (In-depth Lubrication & Component Inspection)

In-depth maintenance shall be implemented on moving parts and transmission structures of the FAKRA production line every week to resolve mechanical dry friction, minor abrasion and clearance deviation.

First, apply special lubricating grease to servo lead screws, linear guide rails, transmission gears and feeding rollers of the whole machine. Smooth and uniform transmission can be maintained to lower abrasion and operational noise caused by dry metal friction, as well as guarantee wire feeding precision and crimping stability. Second, inspect the condition of rotary stripping blade assemblies, clear attachments on blade edges and check blade wear. Timely grinding or replacement is required for blunted or chipped blades to prevent damage to the aluminum foil layer and inner conductors of FAKRA harnesses.

In addition, check the tightness of terminal feeding mechanisms, shield combing jaws and sealing ring assembly fixtures. Fasten loose screws and adjust jaw opening/closing clearances to avoid defective conditions including uneven shield wire combing and assembly offset caused by inconsistent clamping force. Finally, clean dust accumulated on the heat dissipation fan inside the electrical control cabinet to ensure effective heat dissipation and prevent overheating alarms of servo drivers.

3. Monthly Maintenance Specifications (Precision Calibration & Overall Equipment Overhaul)

FAKRA harness manufacturing demands rigorous standards for coaxiality, crimping precision and assembly dimensions; overall equipment precision calibration must be conducted monthly to restore the original factory precision performance of the equipment.

Calibrate the coaxiality and cutting depth precision of stripping stations to realize uniform and stable multi-layer stripping. Calibrate the levelness and concentricity of crimping dies to correct micro deviations generated by long-term vibration, eliminating eccentric crimping and uneven clearances. For the CCD visual system, calibrate inspection benchmarks and correct brightness parameters of light sources on a regular basis to unify inspection criteria and raise the identification accuracy of defective products.

Comprehensively test the sensitivity of various sensors, photoelectric sensors and limit switches. Clean stains on sensor probes, adjust sensing distances, and eliminate hidden dangers such as signal delay and sensor failure. Inspect electrical circuit interfaces and power cords for aging or loosening, troubleshoot potential safety hazards including electric leakage and poor contact to secure stable operation of the electric control system.

4. Prohibited Operations During Equipment Shutdown & Daily Operation

Standardized operation is essential for equipment fault reduction. During production, it is strictly forbidden to strike precision stations with hard objects, alter system parameters without authorization, or run the equipment with existing faults.

When material jamming, alarm shutdown or abnormal movement occurs, cut off the power supply first for fault troubleshooting. Forcible prying of mechanical structures is prohibited, which may lead to fixture deformation, blade cracking and transmission clearance offset.

For long-term equipment shutdown and storage, clean all dust and debris on the machine, coat blades, guide rails and exposed metal surfaces with anti-rust oil, cut off the power supply and apply dust-proof shielding. This prevents subsequent failures induced by moisture oxidation and dust accumulation.
